Tropics residents are invited to attend our regular meetings on the first Monday of every month at 6:30 to 8:30. The first half hour is for general discussion and assembly, the regular meeting is7:00 to 8:00 and the last half hour is continued discussion for those that want to stay. The B-Bug Computer Club is now open from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon (or longer if needed) Monday through Friday.

The club is back on the Internet now. If you would like to have an email address but don't have a computer you can get an email address from the B-Bug Computer Club and access your account from the clubroom. We now have several computers running Windows ME and XP and two printers. Whether you want to learn about computers, the programs you use or just email a friend or relative come over and join us Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to noon. Our email address is memberbbugclub@gmail.com.

There are many services available through the Internet. One mentioned at the last meeting is making DMV appointments and paying fees. Others are renting autos or making hotel/motel reservations. Come and explore what you can do with a computer and the Internet.

A cousin from Seattle emailed me a problem that she was having running a video clip clip from an email she had received. It would run for a minute, pause then run for a minute more before it paused again. This can happen when there is insufficient memory (RAM [Random Access Memory]) in your computer. The computer is is pausing to download more of the file. The solution is to add more RAM to your computer. You can also try closing programs that are running in the background. Right click on an icon down at the bottom right of your monitor and left click on 'Exit' or 'Close'.

It is also possible that you need to run the 'Defrag' utility from Programs/accessories/tools/Defrag. When you save or delete files to or from the hard disc the computer tends to scatter bits and pieces of the files all over. This uses up available memory that the computer uses for temporary RAM.

Larry and I are available for help during club meetings, by appointment at the

clubroom or your home any time. To make an appointment for help Call;
